ABOUT THE CENTER FOR INTEGRATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Strengthening IITU’s role in the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda by fostering an innovation ecosystem, advancing green digital solutions, and enhancing strategic partnerships among academia, the public sector, and industry.
— Educational Integration: Incorporation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into bachelor’s and master’s curricula, including the use of SDG-related case studies, workshops, and lectures to raise awareness among students and staff
— Research Activities: Support and coordination of interdisciplinary research in areas such as Green IT, energy efficiency, inclusive digital education, and smart cities
— Strategic Partnerships (SDG 17): Development of collaborative networks with international organizations (e.g., the UN and UNESCO), government agencies, and partner universities to implement joint projects in the field of sustainable development
— Monitoring and Reporting: Collection and analysis of data and preparation of reports on the University’s contribution to achieving the SDGs, including participation in international rankings such as the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings
— Social Responsibility and Volunteering: Organization of student-led initiatives, environmental campaigns, and social projects aimed at addressing the needs and challenges of the local community.
The mission of the Center is to transform the University into a regional hub of knowledge and innovation that integrates the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into its educational, research, and social activities. The Center seeks to foster a new generation of IT professionals capable of addressing global social and environmental challenges through the effective use of digital technologies.
