ELBA: training in Slovenia

20.01.2022

Big data analysis is one of the main areas of focus of the International Information Technology University today. The two-week training in Slovenia at the University of Primorska, organized by the European Union under the Erasmus+ ELBA project, was another stage of professional development, attended by IITU data science lecturers Aigerim Mishina and Fatima Tokmukhamedova. “Classes by Professor Branko Kavšek and his colleagues introduced us to the latest trends in this field and to the methods European universities use when working with big data,” the IITU lecturers say.

Aigerim and Fatima have already held several seminars, passing on the knowledge gained from the Slovenian professors to young data analysis lecturers at IITU. The trainings were held in a discussion format, and participants were interested in new data analysis programmes and tools. Aigerim spoke about methodological approaches to teaching data analysis at European universities, and Fatima shared new data analysis tools.

Under the ELBA project implemented by the International Information Technology University, 5 faculty members have already been trained in Spain and Slovenia, along with more than 50 young IITU lecturers, master's and doctoral students. In March, IITU faculty will take part in the next training in Italy.
