On June 25, 2026, at a meeting of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the second, revised, and expanded edition of the Interuniversity Standard on the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan was approved.
The Standard establishes unified approaches, general provisions, and terminology for the application of artificial intelligence technologies in higher and (or) postgraduate education organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It aims to ensure the high-quality and responsible integration of AI into the educational, scientific, and administrative activities of universities.
The document was prepared by the Educational and Methodological Association for personnel training tracks "061 Information and Communication Technologies, 063 Information Security" based at JSC "International University of Information Technologies" (IITU) and was adopted at an expanded meeting of the UMO on June 5, 2026. At the meeting of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council, Akkyz Kurakovna Mustafina, Deputy Chairperson of the UMO-GUP REMC and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of JSC "International University of Information Technologies," delivered a report on the second edition of the Interuniversity Standard. The second edition of this Standard is designed to regulate the quality of AI application in higher and postgraduate education organizations.
Following the discussion, the Republican Educational and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the second edition of the Interuniversity Standard for implementation.
