The University community warmly congratulates Professor Altai Zufarovich Aitmagambetov, Professor of the Department of Intelligent telecommunications, on receiving the Medal of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC)!
This award recognizes his long-standing professional contribution, high level of expertise and significant involvement in the development of telecommunications, radio frequency regulation and satellite technologies.
The RCC is an intergovernmental coordination body in the field of communications and information technologies. It is recognized by the specialized agencies of the United Nations — the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU) - as their regional organization.
The RCC was established in 1991 on the initiative of the Communications Administrations of 11 states: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
The RCC also has around 60 leading companies from the telecommunications sector of its member states as observers. These include Aztelecom LLC (Azerbaijan), Beltelecom RUE (Belarus), Kazakhtelecom JSC (Kazakhstan), Kyrgyztelecom OJSC (Kyrgyzstan), Rostelecom PJSC (Russia), Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (China), OneWeb (United Kingdom), the Republican Center for Space Communication JSC (Kazakhstan), ICANN (USA), RIPE NCC (Netherlands), GSMA (United Kingdom), Kazpost JSC (Kazakhstan), and many others.
The establishment of the RCC was an important step toward preserving a unified telecommunications space and ensuring effective cooperation among the communication networks of the participating states during a period of major political and economic transformation.We sincerely congratulate Professor Altai Zufarovich Aitmagambetov on this well-deserved recognition and wish him continued professional and scientific success, new achievements and the successful implementation of significant international projects!
