From 31 March to 2 April 2026, the International Information Technology University (IITU) in Almaty hosted an international workshop as part of the Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building project “Development of Innovative Graduate Educational Program in Cyber Security for the Digital Labor Market of Central Asia”.
The workshop aimed to enhance and modernize cybersecurity educational programs in line with the demands of the digital labor market while strengthening academic cooperation among higher education institutions in Central Asia and the European Union.
Representatives of partner universities and organizations from Spain, Italy, Romania, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan participated in the event.
During the workshop, participants reviewed plans for the development of cybersecurity educational programs at universities across Central Asia and discussed modern approaches to curriculum design and teaching methodologies.
Particular attention was given to:
- presenting the results of analytical research conducted within the project;
- exchanging best practices in the development of educational programs;
- discussing the interim results of surveys assessing public demand and awareness;
- developing practical recommendations for the further implementation of the project.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants reached a shared vision for the project's next stages, identified priority areas for the development of cybersecurity educational programs, and agreed on the subsequent steps for implementing the project objectives.
The implementation of this project contributes to improving the quality of cybersecurity education and supports the development of higher education in response to the evolving challenges of the digital economy.
