Cybersecurity Training Held in Pisa, Italy, within the Cyber4CA Project

26–28 October 2026 · Pisa, Italy

Representatives from the International Information Technology University (IITU) Cyber4CA Project team participated in a training session held in Pisa, Italy, from October 26 to 28. At Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, IITU Professor Talgat Nurlybayev presented the university's development plan for introducing a Master's degree program in cybersecurity. Dameliya Eskendirova, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity, shared plans for launching this program at IITU.

Professor Talgat Nurlybayev delivered a presentation in which he discussed the significance of modern cyber ranges — tools used for simulating cyberattacks, testing the security levels of information systems, and developing the practical skills of future professionals — while also sharing his own professional expertise.

The event was organized within the framework of the project "Development of Innovative Graduate Educational Program in Cyber Security for Digital Labor Market of Central Asia," which aims to create innovative Master's-level educational programs in cybersecurity tailored to the needs of the digital labor market in Central Asia. The project is being implemented under the Erasmus+ program's "Capacity Building in Higher Education" action.

Throughout the training, participants discussed ways to strengthen their knowledge and expertise in cybersecurity, exchange international experience, and advance the project's key objectives. Particular attention was given to the development of cybersecurity education programs, the integration of innovative approaches into the learning process, and the strengthening of cooperation among higher education institutions.

The main objective of the Cyber4CA project is to develop higher education in cybersecurity across Central Asian countries in line with the demands of the digital labor market. The project aims to develop three new graduate-level educational programs, introduce 12 new or updated courses, establish seven cybersecurity laboratories, and develop a digital learning platform.

The training in Pisa was an important activity within the project, contributing to international knowledge exchange, improvements in cybersecurity education, and the preparation of qualified specialists for Central Asia's growing digital economy.
