IITU on the International Stage: European Experience in Cybersecurity
The International Information Technology University continues its active partnership in the global education system. From June 15 to 19, a large-scale training seminar for faculty members was held in Madrid, Spain, at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) under the international “Cyber4CA” project. Representing IITU at the seminar were university project members Zhadir Ontebaev, Zhanur Manapbayev and Shakirt Malikenov. The main task of the project is to develop and implement innovative Master's educational programs in cybersecurity for the digital labor market of Central Asia.
The platform for knowledge exchange brought together representatives from universities in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Belgium and Romania. On the first day of the event, representatives from the Ministries of Education of the partner countries shared their strategic experience in developing educational programs in their respective nations. Furthermore, Victor Villagra and Diego Rivera, program managers of the UPM Master's in Cybersecurity, alongside Professor Slobodan Bojanic, presented a model curriculum that meets modern European standards. Throughout the seminar, the focus extended beyond theoretical aspects to include practical training on establishing modern CyberLabs in universities, ensuring cloud security and managing IoT security.
This five-day meeting strengthened international cooperation and opened up new opportunities for our university to train modern and competitive specialists in the field of cybersecurity. Within the framework of the project, the IITU team aims to enhance cutting-edge digital educational programs and innovate the laboratory infrastructure. The main slogan of the project is “Advancing Cyber Security Education for the Digital Future”.
