GOAL

Project Goal

To develop methods for determining the set of thermophysical parameters of a multilayer medium by non-destructive testing, to prove the stability and convergence of the developed methods, to carry out measurements to obtain the initial data, and to build and debug a software product for determining all thermophysical parameters of multilayer soil and testing the developed methods.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Abstract

The thermophysical characteristics of soil change depending on human anthropogenic impact. Without knowledge of these characteristics, rapid forecasting of heat transfer in the soil becomes a difficult task. Therefore, developing methods for calculating all thermophysical parameters of a multilayer medium and automating their determination is a relevant task. Research methodology: the main research method is mathematical and computer modeling and machine learning. The essence of this powerful tool of scientific inquiry consists of three inseparable stages: model – algorithm – program. Therefore, mathematical modeling and machine learning were chosen as the means of achieving the goal.

RESULTS

Scientific Achievements

Software code was developed for determining the thermal conductivity and heat capacity coefficients of a material.

IMPLEMENTATION

Commercialization and Practical Application

The project results can be applied in forecasting the temperature regime of various materials, soils and grounds. The developed software product may be commercialized.
