Almaty, June 2, 2025 — The International Information Technologies University (IITU), in collaboration with the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU), announces the launch of a data engineering internship for students of the "Artificial Intelligence" educational program. The internship will run from June 2 to June 13, 2025, and will bring together 34 first-year students from IITU, with one of the weeks taking place in KBTU’s state-of-the-art laboratories.
The goal of the internship is to provide students with hands-on experience in building high-performance data processing pipelines, as well as to develop skills in working with modern tools for big data analysis and visualization.
As part of the intensive program, participants will:
- Explore data processing architecture at the hardware level (CPU, GPU, DRAM, disk storage) and learn to select optimal technologies for specific tasks;
- Master modern tools and libraries such as Pandas, cuDF, Dask, NVTabular, and Plotly;
- Build scalable ETL processes using multiple GPUs;
- Learn to visualize millions of data points in real time and optimize the performance of interactive dashboards;
- Take part in the final “Data Detective” challenge aimed at optimizing user interface performance.
"Data engineering is the foundation of modern analytics and machine learning. We are pleased to offer students a unique opportunity to master cutting-edge practices and technologies in partnership with an industry leader in high-performance computing."
The program concludes with final project presentations and the awarding of official certificates from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI), validating the participants’ level of professional training.
Training under the "Artificial Intelligence" educational program is part of IITU's strategic initiative to develop digital competencies and prepare a new generation of specialists for the digital economy.
