Mountain Kings is an organization created with the aim of bringing together people who share a common interest—hiking. Our mission is to promote active recreation within our university and to cultivate healthy habits among students. In our organization, students not only enjoy hiking and organize open hikes, but also develop various skills depending on the departments they belong to. Currently, the organization has three departments:

The Mountain Kings organization operates in the universities of IITU, KBTU, SDU, KIMEP, and KazGASA. We organize various collaborations, which not only help globalize our activities but also provide students with the opportunity to make many new and beneficial acquaintances.

Our Mission

To show students all the joys of active recreation in the mountains of the Zailiyskiy Alatau, broaden their horizons, and help them form meaningful and useful connections. In the club, we share experiences and rules on how to behave properly in nature, learn safety techniques, and explore new routes.

Our Initiatives

Our hikes are open not only to club members but to anyone interested. We organize weekly free open hikes of varying difficulty levels, in which anyone can participate. Organization activists act as guides and ensure that everyone safely reaches and returns from the destination, while also building the routes themselves. Thanks to our open hikes, every student can safely reach their desired destination.

History

The club was founded in 2021 by university activists. A group of second-year students decided to unite friends with a shared interest and eventually brought together a team of 60 people. Currently, the organization has 58 active members, and the current leader is second-year student Aslanbek Mannapov.
