"Design Battle: An innovative design competition at the International IT University brought together talents from all over Kazakhstan"

Last weekend, on February 24-25, a unique hackathon "Design Battle" took place on the territory of the International IT University. The event was held with the support of JSC IITU, the Sabi Charitable Foundation and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, becoming a significant event for the country's design community.

The hackathon attracted more than 220 designers from different parts of Kazakhstan, bringing together talents from various fields of design. The organizers offered a unique mixed format of the event, allowing participants to participate both in person and online. Thanks to this, more than 150 guests were able to join the online broadcast, following the progress of the competition and the designers' workflow.

The first day of the hackathon was full of training workshops from leading experts and founders of design agencies. The participants had a unique opportunity to learn about working with ethnic style, creating identity and many other key aspects of design.

On the second day, the participants worked faithfully on their projects, which resulted in the creation of 70 unique works in two categories: "UX/UI design" and "Graphic Design". All projects were presented before a qualified jury, which included famous personalities such as Kenes Rakishev, president of the Sabi Foundation, Assel Tasmagambetova, as well as specialists of the IIT and independent experts in the field of design.

In the category "Graphic Design" won:

1st place – Bulkhayyr Kasymkhan;
2nd place – Tyrkesbaev Islam;
3rd place – Muptekeev Ulan.

In the "UX/UI design" category, the winners were:

1st place – Mukasheva Dilnaz;
2nd place – Makhmatov Ruslan;
3rd place – Rayymkulova Aruzhan.

"Design Battle" became a bright event in the world of Kazakhstani design, demonstrating the high level of professionalism and creativity of the participants. The event highlighted the importance of supporting and developing creative industries in Kazakhstan, as well as providing a platform for young designers to share experiences and ideas.
