Akelius Platform Acquired a New Feature
In June 2022, a new feature that allows teachers to use their gadget as a server appeared on the Akelius platform. This will increase the effectiveness of teaching foreign children who came to Kazakhstan and found themselves in difficult life situations.
“We are making progress in developing new functionality on the Akelius platform. In the new version, the teacher's device will function as a server, and students' tablets will use the content from the server. The content should be downloaded only on the teacher's device now. This will make it much easier to use the app offline,” Nicole Zislik, Head of the Akelius Department of Languages says.
As part of a joint project with Akelius, UNICEF and IITU children's digital skills are developed and their literacy level is improved. Since September 2021, nine schools in Kazakhstan have been participating in the pilot project. On the basis of these schools, digital laboratories were created, where tablets, charging stations, microphones, headphones and other gadgets were provided to the learners and teachers.
Work to improve the functionality of the educational platform is ongoing. For example, in April 2022, the Meshnet feature was connected. During testing of the alpha version of Meshnet, some problems were identified that were later fixed in the new, beta version of Meshnet 2.0. Now, according to the experts, this function is stable. Note that Mesh networks are used to organize a wireless network. They allow to solve tasks that one router cannot handle. This technology is useful in large areas.
