Kenjegali Sagadiev University of International Business (UIB), in collaboration with the International Information Technologies University (IITU), held a seminar-discussion as part of the joint educational program "Artificial Intelligence" on the topic: "The Use of AI in the Development of Educational Materials".
The speaker was Kenzhekhan Kabdessov Talgatuly, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Social and Human Sciences and Head of the Quality Assurance Center at UIB.
He shared his experience with the participants on how to use AI tools to create effective educational courses, giving examples of AI applications in the development of syllabi, assignments, and assessment systems in the field of International Relations.
Teachers actively engaged in hands-on practice using AI tools in real time, which helped them strengthen their practical skills.
Participants also shared their own cases of using ChatGPT during lessons. Recommendations were given to encourage students to use AI wisely—without losing critical thinking, information processing, and data verification skills, and to apply these tools creatively rather than becoming overly dependent on them.
One of the ongoing challenges remains the need to implement AI-based automated systems for checking student work (independent study tasks, problem-solving, essays, projects, etc.).
The participants expressed both interest and appreciation for the seminar, and also voiced their desire for future workshops on the use of AI in education.
