On March 21, at a festive event organized by the Bostandyq District Akimat, IITU University presented its innovative project. The district akim attended the event and became acquainted with the achievements of the university’s students and faculty.
As one of the leading institutions in the field of information technology, IITU actively develops modern IT solutions. One of its latest projects allows users to virtually explore a traditional Kazakh yurt using VR headsets.
These VR headsets are not just for simple visual observation. They fully immerse the user in a virtual environment: by putting on the headset, a person “enters” the yurt, exploring its structure, national ornaments, and furniture in detail. Additionally, some models include sound effects and interactive elements, making the experience highly realistic. Through the headset, users not only see but also feel the space, move around, and observe the yurt from different angles.
During the celebration, the university also organized traditional national games, with winners receiving commemorative prizes. The event witnessed the setting of two world records.
This project combines tradition with modern technology, offering a digital presentation of Kazakh culture.
