Dear Students!
JSC “International Information Technology University” invites students to take part in the Student Scientific and Innovation Projects Competition “IT Genius”, aimed at developing competencies in the fields of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and intelligent technologies.
The purpose of the competition is to provide students with an opportunity to try themselves in real AI and digital technology projects: from the development and programming of information systems to the creation of AI products, startup ideas, and media projects; to implement their ideas in practice, enhance their AI skills, and create solutions that can be useful for people, business, and the university.
The competition is held across all educational programs of the University in two sections:
1. Engineering and Technological Projects
Task: Development and programming of a robot barista using AI technologies, automation, and digital control.
2. Entrepreneurial and Media Projects
Task: Development of a business plan or media project based on the application of AI and digital technologies (AI services, digital platforms, intelligent products, data-driven solutions, etc.).
STAGES AND TIMELINE
Stage 1. Application Submission
January 12–24, 2026
Participants submit an application (Appendix 1) in PDF format to the email address: itgenius@iitu.edu.kz.
January 26, 2026 – Introductory meeting of participants with the organizing committee.
Stage 2. Submission of Competition Materials
February 26 – March 14, 2026
- Participants of the “Entrepreneurial and Media Projects” section submit a business plan or description of a digital product using AI (Appendix 2) in PDF format.
- Participants of the “Engineering and Technological Projects” section submit a description of the solution architecture and/or a project simulation demonstrating the operation of the robot barista and the AI technologies used.

Stage 3. Expert Evaluation
March 16–25, 2026
Projects are evaluated by an expert commission based on criteria of innovativeness, level of AI application, practical relevance, quality of implementation, and scalability potential.
Stage 4. Final
April 10, 2026
On-site project defense before the jury in the format of a presentation and demonstration of the developed solutions.
The competition results will be published on the official University website after the completion of the final stage. Winners will be awarded certificates and cash prizes.
PARTICIPATION TERMS
- Students of all years of study at JSC “IITU” are eligible to participate.
- Participation is possible individually or in teams (up to 5 people).
- Each participant (or team) may submit only one project.
- All projects must be related to the application of AI and/or digital technologies.
- Projects must be original and must not violate third-party copyrights.
- The project must have a scientific and innovative character and be presented in a functional or demonstrational form.
