In February–March 2026, the annual International Media School for journalism students of the International Information Technology University took place in Poznań, Poland, at the partner institution — Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
The program brought together 12 journalism students from IITU, who spent 15 days immersed in the academic and student environment of the partner university. The two universities jointly implement a double degree program in journalism.
During the media school, students from IITU attended a series of lectures together with Polish students totaling 3 ECTS credits. The educational program and intercultural activities were organized by the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism Szymon Ossowski, Vice-Dean Agnieszka Stepinska, Head of the International Office Bartosz Hordecki, and professors Jakub Jakubowski and Jedrzej Skrzypczak.
In addition to academic activities, the students explored Polish culture by visiting museums and exhibitions in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Kraków and Wrocław.
One of the most memorable experiences was seeing the famous painting Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci, whose original is kept in Kraków.
Akerke Elemes, a second-year student of the IITU program “International Journalism and Internet Security” and a participant of the media school, shared her impressions: "I met like-minded people, made new friends, gained new knowledge, and discovered the culture of another country. After this trip, I decided to continue studying in the double degree journalism program and obtain a European diploma along with my IITU diploma."
It is worth noting that this was the second International Media School for IITU journalism students. The first one took place in 2025 in Almaty at the International Information Technology University.
The project continues to expand: in 2027, another partner — Rhodes College (USA) — plans to host the next media school.
