Journalism is more than simply delivering information; it is the art of exploring the world, understanding different cultures, and connecting people. For students pursuing this field, international experience plays a crucial role in their professional development. This year, the International Media School held in Poland became a vivid example of such an opportunity.
In February and March 2026, the traditional International Media School for journalism students took place in Poznań, Poland. The program brought together 12 students from the International Information Technology University (IITU), who had the opportunity to explore the academic and student life of the university’s partner institution, Adam Mickiewicz University.
As part of the program, participants attended a series of specialized lectures alongside Polish students and completed a 3-ECTS academic course. The curriculum extended beyond theoretical knowledge, covering contemporary issues in international journalism, the future of media, digital communications, and intercultural interaction.
One of the key highlights of the Media School was the exchange of experiences among students from different countries. Participants worked in a multicultural environment, established professional connections, gained exposure to diverse perspectives, and broadened their understanding of the journalism profession.
The program was not limited to classroom activities. Students also had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Polish culture by visiting historical landmarks and museums in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Kraków, and Wrocław. One of the most memorable moments was seeing Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting Lady with an Ermine, preserved in Kraków.
The 15-day Media School provided students not only with new knowledge but also with valuable life experience. Participants learned how to work effectively in an international environment, enhanced skills essential for their future careers, made new friends, and discovered the cultures of different countries.
According to the students, the program had a positive impact on their professional aspirations and future career goals. Studying in an international setting increased many participants’ interest in dual-degree programs and opened new pathways toward international education opportunities.
