Almaty. The International Information Technology University (IITU) has officially joined the SUSE Academic Training Program, becoming one of the first universities in Kazakhstan to partner with SUSE, a global leader in innovative, reliable, and enterprise-grade open source solutions.
Through this collaboration, IITU will integrate SUSE’s professional training and certification tracks into its curriculum, providing students with valuable skills in Linux systems administration and modern cloud-native technologies. The initial courses to be introduced include:
● SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
● SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) in SUSE Rancher Manager 2.7 and 2.8 for Rancher Prime
Participation in the SUSE Academic Training Program will give IITU students access to world-class learning resources, certification opportunities, and hands-on training in open source technologies widely used in enterprises worldwide. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic study and industry needs, preparing graduates to succeed in careers in IT infrastructure, DevOps, and cloud computing.
Damelya Yeskendirova, Head of Cybersecurity Department at IITU, emphasized the importance of this partnership:
“By joining the SUSE Academic Training Program, IITU strengthens its mission to provide students with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills. These certifications will not only increase the competitiveness of our graduates in the job market but also contribute to the growth of open source expertise in Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region.”
“We are thrilled to partner with IITU and expand the SUSE Academic Training Program in Kazakhstan,” said Cesar Herrera, Global Manager of SUSE Academic Training Program. “This collaboration is a significant step toward bridging the skills gap in the open source and cloud industries. By integrating our professional training and certifications, IITU is empowering its students with the practical, hands-on knowledge they need to succeed in today's rapidly evolving IT landscape.”
