On June 11, 2026, IITU hosted an essential and highly informative educational meeting for students titled "Drugs — a Journey with No Return." The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness among the younger generation regarding the devastating consequences of substance abuse, foster a resilient attitude against harmful habits, and enhance legal literacy.
The keynote speaker of the event, a distinguished expert, Yelshibayev Aziz Bakhitzhanuly, delivered a comprehensive lecture to the university community. During the presentation, crucial aspects of drug addiction prevention were thoroughly discussed. The speaker emphasized that substance dependence is not merely a personal tragedy but a profound social crisis that deteriorates public health, erodes human individuality, and poses a direct threat to the safety of society.
The lecture shed light on the severe risks of addiction associated with modern synthetic drugs, detailing their destructive impact on the central nervous system, mental stability, and social life. Students were informed about how a single misguided decision could completely ruin their academic achievements, future career prospects, and personal aspirations. Furthermore, the speaker thoroughly explained the legal and criminal liabilities involved in the illicit trafficking and distribution of prohibited substances.
The meeting concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to engage directly with the expert and receive professional insights. Yelshibayev Aziz Bakhitzhanuly strongly encouraged the youth to make conscious lifestyle choices, prioritize health and sports, and focus on personal development. IITU administration reaffirmed its commitment to regularly organizing such preventive initiatives as a core component of the university’s comprehensive student development and welfare strategy.
