IITU Hosts a Meeting on Countering Extremism and Terrorism

On April 1, 2026, an important meeting titled “Extremism and Terrorism as Threats to Public Safety” was held at the International Information Technology University.


The main purpose of the event was to prevent the spread of extremist and terrorist ideologies among young people, enhance their legal and information literacy, and strengthen social stability and security.


The guest speaker of the meeting, Gulnar Zhakanovna Dzhumanova, provided a comprehensive overview of modern forms of extremism and terrorism, their negative impact on society, and the factors contributing to youth involvement in radical ideologies.


In addition, participants were informed about information security issues, methods of protecting themselves from misinformation on social media, and the importance of critical thinking.


During the meeting, students actively asked questions and received clear and informative answers from the expert.


This event became an important step toward fostering a conscious mindset among young people, enhancing the culture of safety in society, and strengthening efforts to counter extremism and terrorism.
