From June 16 to 18, Almaty hosted a series of SAP events for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, which were attended by representatives of the International Information Technology University (IITU).
On June 16, the Ritz-Carlton hotel hosted the SAP NOW AI Tour Kazakhstan conference, bringing together SAP customers and partners. Participants were introduced to the company's new solutions in artificial intelligence, business process automation, and the implementation of AI agents in enterprise operations. At the invitation of SAP Academic Cooperation Coordinator Yuri Kupriyanov, IITU was represented at the conference by LabHUB Director Sergey Ti.
On June 17, the University of International Business (UIB) hosted the SAP Academic Community Conference Kazakhstan 2026, dedicated to developing SAP's cooperation with universities in Kazakhstan. IITU was represented at the event by LabHUB Director Sergey Ti and Professor of the Information Systems Department Gulbakhyt Sembina. The conference featured SAP's modern educational solutions and the structure of training courses, as well as practical master classes, including work with a virtual simulation laboratory.
On June 18, a specialized workshop for university teachers was held at IITU, organized as part of the development of the joint NEXT GEN SAP Lab. Over 25 teachers and staff members participated in discussing the possibilities of integrating SAP solutions into the educational process. During the meeting, priority areas for implementing SAP training modules into the university's educational programs were identified, including Business Builders, SAP Learning Hub, and SAP Joule Studio.
Following the workshop, a working meeting was held with the participation of SAP representative Yuri Kupriyanov, Director of the IITU Innovation Center Nurbek Bekaulov, and LabHUB Director Sergey Ti. The parties discussed the prospects of SAP's participation in the IT Fest ideas festival and reached preliminary agreements to hold a hackathon aimed at solving real business problems for SAP customers and partners in Kazakhstan as part of this event.
The visit concluded with a meeting with the university leadership, attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Akkyz Mustafina, Financial Director Kaisar Alpysbayev, faculty deans, and heads of structural divisions. The participants summarized the results of the events and outlined further steps to develop the partnership between IITU and SAP in the fields of digital education, professional training, and the introduction of modern corporate technologies into the educational process.
