On January 25, 2023, Coursera Day, a seminar for universities, was held at the International University of Information Technologies, the purpose of which was to demonstrate the methodology for implementing the Coursera for Campus educational platform for higher education institutions on the example of IITU and KBTU.

The seminar was organized jointly with Coursera representatives in support of the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the introduction of MOOCs in Kazakh universities and localization of selected courses.

Along with representatives of Coursera - Eduard Kahn, Director of Business Development in Central Asia of Coursera and Siddhartha Nagar, Coursera Customer Service Manager - experts from IITU and KBTU were speakers at the seminar. They shared their experience of implementing online courses of the best foreign universities in the educational process of Kazakhstani universities.

The relevance of the seminar is that in the future it is planned to provide an opportunity for students of all universities of Kazakhstan to recalculate credits of mastered online courses and disciplines.

The seminar participants shared their experience in implementing MOOCs, shared ideas for solving important educational and methodological issues and had the opportunity to talk directly with Coursera representatives. Teachers and mentors of IITU shared the methodology of implementing the Coursera for Campus platform in the educational process of the university.

At the end of the seminar, memorable prizes were awarded to students and teachers who completed the largest number of courses on the platform.
