From November 20 to December 20, 2023, the International University of Information Technologies hosted an Associate Professor from Cincinnati University, USA, Dr. Russel Edward McMahon. The professor is assigned to the Department of "Information Systems" thanks to the support of the republican budget.


Fulbright Awards:

  • Fulbright Specialist (2019)
  • Miras University, Shymkent, Kazakhstan, February-March 2019.
  • Helped Computer Science faculty members improve their technical English using improvisation.
  • Lectured in English and French classes.
  • After returning to the US, taught a 10-week (2 classes per week) improvisation course for English students at Miras.
  • Gave several presentations on improvisation at the American Corner in Shymkent and Almaty.
  • Gave a presentation on improvisation at a conference of K-8 English teachers outside of Shymkent.
  • Visited Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) and International Information Technology University (IITU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
  • Fulbright Scholar (2022)
  • Tashkent University of Information Technology (TUIT), Tashkent, Uzbekistan, February-June 2022.
  • Conducted an evaluation of TUIT's IT courses and degrees and made recommendations for possible curriculum changes, and gave several presentations on IT-related topics.
  • Conducted several presentations at the British Management University and TUIT-Fergana Branch.
  • Invited speaker at the Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) Informatics Conference.
  • Invited speaker at the virtual conference of English language teachers of Kazakhstan (KazTEA)
