For the first time, the university held the creative competition “Freshman Talents IITU 2025.” The event aimed to reveal the creative potential of first-year students, engage them in active student life, and support young talents. Acting Chairperson of the Board – Rector Katerina Kolesnikova delivered a welcoming speech to the participants.
The competition program featured performances in various categories – vocals, dance, theater, instrumental performance, and mobile photography. Students from different faculties showcased a high level of preparation, energetic dances, acting skills, beautiful voices, and virtuosic musical performances.
A panel of expert judges evaluated the freshmen’s performances, assessing the technical level and originality of their creative acts. The grand prize was awarded to the Faculty of Business, Media, and Management, whose representatives received a trophy and diploma. In the category “Best Debut,” a group of international students was recognized for presenting a literary composition dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abay Kunanbayuly. The “Audience Choice Award” went to an instrumental group from FCTC, while the winners in the vocal and instrumental categories were recognized by the IITU Alumni Association. Letters of appreciation and university-branded gifts were presented to senior students who served as mentors for the freshmen and assisted them in preparing for the competition.
The new tradition of hosting “Freshman Talents”, established at the university this year, became a vibrant event and received an enthusiastic response from students. During the award ceremony, university leadership and competition organizers expressed their gratitude to the judges, mentors, and all participants, wishing them continued success in their creative endeavors.
