Training Seminar on Space Technologies Held at the International Information Technology University in Almaty

On February 1, 2025, a training seminar was held in Almaty at JSC "International Information Technology University" (IITU). The event was organized by the International Organization of Space Communications (IOSC) "Intersputnik" in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and JSC "International Information Technology University" with the support of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The seminar brought together leading specialists, experts, students, and young scientists interested in the development of space technologies.


The opening ceremony featured welcoming speeches from key representatives of the space industry:

  • Damir Seysembekov, Chairman of the Telecommunications Committee, emphasized the importance of discussing current issues in space technology and highlighted Kazakhstan's role in international space activities.
  • Ksenia Drozdova, Director General of IOSC "Intersputnik," expressed confidence in the continued development of satellite technologies and international cooperation.
  • Assylbek Issakhov, Chairman of the Board – Rector of JSC "International Information Technology University," underlined the significance of educational initiatives in training specialists for the space industry.
  • Mario Maniewicz, Director of the Radiocommunication Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), emphasized the importance of radio communications in space research and technology.
  • Natalia Mochu, Regional Director of the International Telecommunication Union for the CIS region, highlighted the significance of international cooperation for the sustainable development of the space industry.

The seminar covered a wide range of topics, including the development of space technologies and innovations, prospects for international cooperation in aerospace research, the impact of space technologies on various sectors of the economy, and the application of satellite technologies in different areas of life.


The event marked a significant step towards Kazakhstan’s integration into the global space community, strengthening the country’s position in innovation and high technology. Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss the future of the space industry, and establish connections for further collaboration.


The seminar generated great interest and left a lasting impression on the importance and potential of space research for future global development.
