IITU student and founder of startup TrusTTravel, Alikhan Tuleubayev, won the preparatory stage of the Google AI Studio & Solution Challenge PREP 2024 hackathon.
The hackathon is an intermediate stage of the Google Event. Those who wish to participate can apply for participation until February 22 and present their project, which will contribute to solving one or more of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using Google technologies. This innovative approach to SDG implementation makes the hackathon unique.
TrusTTravel is a startup to develop tourism in Kazakhstan using a gamification system that allows tourists to complete quests and score points. Artificial intelligence elements applied in the developed application help users in choosing tours and attractions.
This project contributes to the realization of several Sustainable Development Goals, including - decent work and economic growth, sustainable cities, responsible consumption and production, and partnerships in tourism.
It should be noted that the Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to address the global challenges of our time and are aimed at ensuring the prosperity of the planet. UN member countries, including Kazakhstan, have committed themselves to the implementation of the SDGs. They are designed to overcome poverty and hunger, the spread of disease, discrimination and inequality, environmental and other problems of humanity. IITU joined this noble mission by becoming a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) program in December 2023.
The Solution Challenge is open to Google GDSC (Google Developer Student Clubs) - university community groups around the world interested in Google developer technologies. Starting in 2020, they will come together to create innovative ways to solve the world's most pressing problems.
Google Al Solution Challenge 2024 is gaining momentum. The victory of an IITU student and a resident of the University Innovation Center in the preparatory hackathon is evidence of the university's active work in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals.
