The rector of IITU attended the National Nuclear Center in Kurchatov city, as part of an important visit by a delegation of leading universities in Kazakhstan led by the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki.
Issues of integrating the center’s research base into university programs, especially relevant for training specialists in the field of nuclear power automation, were discussed. The National Nuclear Center (NNC) is the leading research organization in Kazakhstan, which specializes in the development of advanced technologies in the fields of nuclear energy, radioecology, thermonuclear fusion and geophysics.
NNC includes unique research reactors, a KTM tokamak, laboratory and other scientific equipment. This visit not only emphasized the importance of academic and research communication, but also resulted in the signing of a memorandum for cooperation, opening new prospects for knowledge and experience exchange.
IITU initiated the creation of educational programs on Information and Communication Technologies in Nuclear Energy. This becomes relevant with the issue of creating nuclear power plants in the Republic and providing additional opportunities for domestic specialists.
