In the current semester students of the second year of the International University of Information Technologies, studying the discipline "Cultural Studies" under the guidance of assistant-professor Tanabaeva Anar Saduakasovna, visited the Museum dedicated to the outstanding personality - Dinmukhamed Kunaev.
Who is Dinmukhamed Kunaev?
Dinmukhamed Akhmetovich Kunayev (January 10, 1912 - August 22, 1993) was a Kazakh and Soviet politician, statesman, and diplomat. He was born in the village of Kokchetav in the Alma-Ata region of Kazakhstan. Dinmukhamed Kunayev was born into a nomadic family. In 1931, he joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He was educated at the Kazakh Industrial Institute and later at the Moscow State Institute of Industrial Engineering.
History:
Kunayev began his political career in Kazakhstan and was elected Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan in 1942. Since then, he has held various positions in the Kazakh and Soviet governments. In 1960, Dinmukhamed Kunayev became the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan. He held this post until 1986. Under his leadership, the republic achieved significant economic and social progress. Kunayev was elected a member of the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee in 1962, emphasizing his important position in Soviet politics. He also served as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan from 1964 to 1986.
During the visit, the students familiarized themselves with a rich collection of documents, photographs, videos, portraits and household items provided by D.A. Kunayev's relatives. They learned that by the 90th anniversary of D.A. Kunayev's birth in 2002 a house-museum was opened, and by the second anniversary, the 100th anniversary in 2012, a memorial apartment was opened. The head of the Kazakh SSR lived in this apartment from 1969 to 1993.
The students received a lot of useful historical information about Dinmuhamed Kunayev's life and social activities. D. Kunayev's autobiographical book "Ақиқаттан аттауға болмайды(Akiyattan attauga bolmaidy)" reveals the most difficult and important moments of his leadership of the country, high human qualities, as well as his love for the people and the country.
