Asylbek Abdiashimovich Isakhov, PhD in Mathematics specializing in Computability Theory and Associate Professor in Computer Science and Informatics, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board and Rector of the International Information Technology University.
Asylbek Abdiashimovich received higher education at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2015, he successfully completed a PhD program in collaboration with Heidelberg University in Germany.
He began his career in 2005 as a teacher and head of the Olympic Reserve at Physics and Mathematics High School No. 173. From 2010 to 2017, he worked at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as an assistant, lecturer, senior lecturer, and acting associate professor in the Department of Fundamental Mathematics at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. Between 2017 and 2023, he held the positions of associate professor, professor, and dean of the School of Applied Mathematics at the Kazakh-British Technical University. Since 2020, he has led the Kazakhstan team at the International Mathematics Olympiads (IMO, BMO) with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Until recently, he served as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the Kazakh-British Technical University (2023-2024).
Asylbek Isakhov has significantly contributed to science and education and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the titles "Best University Teacher" (2020) and "Talented Young Scientist of Kazakhstan" (2018, 2023).
