On 2 September 2024, President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev presented his annual Address to the people of Kazakhstan, setting strategic guidelines for the country's development.
One of the main announcements was the proclamation of 2025 as the Year of Working Professions. The head of state noted the importance of raising the prestige of working professions and improving the system of technical and vocational education.
In his speech, he emphasised the importance of the role of teachers, calling them ‘the intellectual vanguard of the country’, and noted the importance of attracting motivated young people to the educational sphere.
In addition, Kasym-Jomart Kemelevich focused on the digitalisation of the economy, which will be an important step towards transparency and reducing corruption risks, as well as opening new opportunities for the regulation of digital assets and cryptocurrencies.
