At the meeting of the Academic Council of the International Information Technology University (IITU), the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Solutions through Digital Transformation” was discussed.
During the session, it was emphasized that the Address is a strategic document reflecting the key principles of the country’s development for the coming years and providing answers to global challenges. The main focus is placed on the active integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies into all sectors of the economy.
To make the digital future a reality, a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence will be established and the necessary legal framework developed. The crucial steps of this large-scale transformation will be outlined in the National Strategy for Digital Development, the preparation of which was entrusted by the President.
In this regard, the academic community plays an important role, as it serves as the foundation for training highly qualified specialists and fostering a knowledge-based economy.
Speakers noted that the IITU, as a specialized higher education institution, is actively involved in this process. New educational programs have been developed and introduced to train in-demand professionals, systematic work is underway to establish a scientific school of artificial intelligence, and research projects are being carried out in collaboration with international partners and IT companies.
Artificial intelligence and digital transformation open up new opportunities for modernizing the economy, public administration, business development, and human capital formation. They are expected to provide a new impetus for the development of manufacturing, geology, infrastructure, transport and logistics, housing and utilities, energy, and agriculture.
The discussion highlighted that the Address is aimed at building a powerful digital environment that will make it possible to effectively and efficiently respond to many global challenges and issues facing the country. Kazakhstan must become one of the global leaders in this field, and the foundation of its future is being laid today.
