IITU receives grant from Akelius Foundation to advance digital language education in Kazakhstan

The International Information Technology University (IITU) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Akelius Foundation to implement the project “Expansion and Institutionalization of Akelius Digital Language Learning in Kazakhstan”.


The project is aimed at expanding accessible, high-quality, and inclusive language education for schoolchildren across the country.

As part of the initiative:

  • more than 10,000 students will gain access to modern digital courses in Kazakh, Russian, and English;
  • the first Kazakh language course will be developed and launched on the Akelius platform;
  • 27 schools across 6 regions of Kazakhstan will join the program, including new regions – Aktau, Turkestan, and Semey;
  • over 150 teachers will be trained in blended learning and digital technologies;
  • 300 tablets and essential infrastructure will be provided to schools.

“This initiative opens new opportunities for schoolchildren and contributes to the development of language education in Kazakhstan. For IITU, it is a great honor to be part of such an important project,” the university noted.
