Kazakh universities and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with AgiBot.
Almaty, February 1, 2025 — As part of the international forum “Digital Almaty 2025: Industrial AI – Technologies for a New Era”, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MDDIAI RK), the country’s leading technical universities, and Shanghai Zhiyuan Innovation Technology Co. Ltd (AgiBot).
The document was signed by representatives of the International Information Technology University (IITU), Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU), Satbayev University, and ALT University.
Purpose of Cooperation
The memorandum is aimed at developing robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) in Kazakhstan through scientific research, education, and knowledge exchange.
The Minister of MDDIAI RK emphasized that industrial digitalization is a key challenge of today’s realities and is being applied across various economic sectors, including mechanical engineering, heavy machinery manufacturing, and mineral extraction.
Impact on Technology and Education Development
The memorandum represents a significant step in strengthening the collaboration between science and business. Joint research in AI and robotics will foster the development of industrial automation, smart systems, and autonomous solutions across multiple industries, from healthcare to agriculture.
Universities, in turn, will gain access to international educational programs, while students will have the opportunity to participate in the development of innovative solutions and undergo internships at leading technology centers.

The Digital Almaty forum traditionally brings together leaders of the IT industry, representatives of the government, business, and the academic community. In 2025, the event is held under the slogan “Industrial AI: Technologies for a New Era” and focuses on the role of artificial intelligence in industry and digital transformation. The signing of the memorandum became one of the key events on the second day of the forum.
This partnership will serve as a foundation for future technological initiatives, strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as a regional hub for innovation and scientific research.
