Sixteenth year in a row, the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education presents the results of the National Ranking of leading universities in Kazakhstan. In 2024, the International Information Technology University (IITU) took a leading position:
- 4th place out of 17 in the ranking of leading Technical Universities in Kazakhstan
- 5th place out of 86 in the ranking of scientific publications of Kazakhstani universities
The ranking is based on data provided by universities and materials from independent sources, such as the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Bolashak Center for International Programs, databases of scientific publications - Scopus, Web of Science, Russian Scientific Citation Index, digital database of the Higher Education Development National Center and state register of the National Institute of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of the rating, a survey was conducted among employers, experts from the academic field, students and graduates of universities. In total, 962 organizations - representatives of employers, 267 experts, 19270 students and 3941 graduates took part in the survey.
In addition to the institutional ranking of universities, the agency has prepared a ranking of educational programs (EPs). In total, 1180 programs across 305 groups of educational programs participated in the EP rating. For the first time this year, educational programs for doctoral studies were ranked.
IITU was among the top three in six groups of educational programs:

- "B042 Journalism and Reporting" – 2nd place out of 8
- "B057 Information Technology" – 3rd place out of 19
- "B044 Management and Control" – 4th place out of 17
- "B059 Communications and Communication Technologies" – 4th place out of 6
- "B046 Finance, Economics, Banking and Insurance" – 7th place out of 18

- "M094 Information Technology" – 1st place out of 10
- "M096 Communications and Communication Technologies" – 2nd place out of 4

- "M072 Management and Control" – 11th place out of 12
