The International University of Information Technology is the country coordinator for the international Erasmus+ project "Cyber4CA - Improving Cybersecurity Education in Central Asia."
Together with universities in Belgium, Spain, Romania, Italy, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, the IITU team, led by Professor Gulnar Zakirova, has begun implementing the project. Improving cybersecurity education in the Central Asian region is the primary objective of the consortium team.
At the first consortium meeting, held online on October 8, participants discussed the project implementation plan, key objectives and goals, and the establishment of a cybersecurity center.
The meeting's moderator, a speaker from the Tashkent University of Information Technology, presented the key results expected upon completion of the project in 2028. The project is scheduled to run for three years. IITU professors, together with colleagues from universities in the European Union and Central Asia, will develop and test a new cybersecurity curriculum that meets international standards. The development will enable students to obtain interdisciplinary cybersecurity modules that can be applied to specific industries.
