The event was held at the university as part of the republican military-patriotic action "Day of Courage". Students of the military department of the university met with veterans of special units, officers of the National Guard and Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as watched a new movie "Berkut".
Welcoming the guests and participants of the meeting, the vice-rector for educational work and social issues Dauren Dyusebayev noted that ensuring security, protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state is an inviolable principle of the formation of Independent Kazakhstan. The military department of the university, which trains reserve specialists, makes its own contribution to the strengthening of the country's defense capability.
"Together with veterans and officers of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, we hold the "Day of Courage". I want to thank the guests of today's meeting, as well as the creative team and creators of the movie "Berkut". This is a movie about the special forces of the National Guard, the events in the movie are based on real events, it is especially valuable," - said the provost.
Kamal Zhaksylykov, the producer of the movie, colonel of the reserve, spoke at the meeting. It should be noted that he is a veteran of special forces, holder of the order "Aibyn", holder of the red beret, in the past was the commander of the special forces unit "Berkut" of Almaty.
Opening the screening, he told the background of the movie, the plot of the film, the preparation of the cast for the complex shooting and the participation of representatives of special units of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The feature film, released on the big screen at the end of 2023, filmed by order of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the basis of many scenes were real events from operational and investigative activities and special operations of law enforcement agencies. In the domestic action film revealed a real military brotherhood, selfless actions of special unit of the National Guard "Berkut" in the performance of military duty, passing tests for the right to wear the red beret, sometimes at the limit of human capabilities.
"Every Kazakhstani must be ready for a responsible and honorable mission - to protect their native country. This is not only a sacred duty of a citizen, but also a tribute to our ancestors, fathers and grandfathers who defended the Motherland! The film is dedicated to those who stand guard over the law and security of the country, their hard work," Kamal Zhaksylykov emphasized.
After watching the movie, the creators of the movie received a round of applause from the students, who vividly shared their emotions and impressions with them.
During the meeting, representatives of the Airborne Assault Troops and the National Guard also told the students about the conditions of service under contract in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other troops and military formations. They familiarized them in detail with the social package of military personnel, the amount of allowances and other entitlements, as well as the requirements for candidates for conscription.
"It is pleasant to realize that veterans and officers of the Armed Forces strive to pass on their combat and life experience to the youth, take an active part in the military-patriotic education of the younger generation. I am sure that the "Day of Courage" will be remembered by students for a long time, and some of them it will become a starting point for choosing a military profession", - said the head of the military department of IITU Evgeny Strokov.
At the end of the event, the participants made a joint photo, and the guests were given souvenirs of the university.
