The International Information Technology University (IITU) hosted a festive concert dedicated to one of the country’s most significant national holidays – the Republic Day of Kazakhstan.

The event began with the ceremonial entrance of the State Flag and the performance of the National Anthem. This solemn moment highlighted the symbolic importance of the occasion, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan on October 25, 1990, which marked the beginning of the nation’s path toward independence.

In their congratulatory remarks, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Akkız Mustafina and Deputy Head of the Department of Youth Policy of Almaty Almaz Kenesbai emphasized the importance of preserving national values and fostering civic engagement among young people in modern Kazakhstan.

As part of the event, an award ceremony was held to honor active students who have made a significant contribution to the university’s community life. Letters of appreciation from the Department of Youth Policy of Almaty were presented to members of student organizations and clubs, creative collectives, and volunteer movements.

The concert’s artistic program became the true highlight of the celebration. The student ensemble of Kazakh folk instruments “Qazyna” performed famous kyuis – “Yngai Tök,” “Älqisa,” and the legendary “Adai,” symbolizing the strength and spirit of the Kazakh people.

The audience was also delighted by vibrant performances from the dance group “Shadows”, vocalists Saya Tursynbekova, Madina Myrzakhankyzy, Bolatkan Madiyar, Maria Omarova, and the vocal-instrumental ensemble “AUEN,” who presented heartfelt songs about the Motherland, love, and unity.

A special moment of the event was the screening of a short film dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai and the project “Journey to the Homeland of Abai.” As part of this initiative, IITU students visited the city of Semey to explore its rich cultural and historical heritage.

The concert concluded on an uplifting note with the song “Qazaqstanym Alğa”, performed by Madina Myrzakhankyzy, joined on stage by all the participants of the celebration.
