"Lesson of Courage" Held at IITU Military Department in Honor of the 36th Anniversary of the Withdrawal of Soviet Troops from Afghanistan
The significance of this commemorative event was further enhanced by the presence of distinguished guests: Retired Lieutenant General Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich and Retired Captain Smirnov Nikolai Ivanovich.
The firsthand accounts of Afghan war veterans provided a deeper understanding of this historic date. Speaking to the officers and students of the Military Department, Lieutenant General Ivan Ivanovich shared his insights on the reasons for the Soviet contingent's deployment to the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan and recounted his personal experiences in military operations.
"Afghanistan is a part of our history, filled with both pain and deep respect for those who honorably fulfilled their military duty. Despite the passing decades, this day will forever remain in our memory as a symbol of the courage and heroism of soldiers and officers," noted the retired lieutenant general.
The attendees honored the memory of fallen internationalist soldiers with a moment of silence.
During the meeting, the invited guests answered students' questions, encouraged them to be patriots, actively engage in military science, and shared their memories and stories of their comrades' heroic deeds.
At the end of the event, Ivan Ivanovich gave a blessing in Kazakh, offering words of wisdom and encouragement to the young defenders of the homeland.
