IITU has wrapped up its grand sports celebration – the 2025 Spartakiad for faculty and staff.
Eight teams, representing structural divisions and departments of the university, competed in six sports over the course of a week: basketball, futsal, volleyball, table tennis, chess, and togyzkumalak.
During the awards ceremony, Chairman of the Board – Rector Assylbek Issakhov congratulated the participants and emphasized that the Spartakiad is not only about striving to win but also about participation, the joy of the game, positive emotions, and the opportunity to feel like a part of a large and united university team. He personally awarded diplomas and valuable prizes to the winners and runners-up in each sport, as well as in the overall team standings, and recognized the best players of the tournament.
The “Rektorat” team, which included staff from the Rector's Office, the Marketing and PR Department, the Department of Educational and Social Work, and the Career Center, emerged as the winner of the Spartakiad and claimed the main trophy. The honorable second place went to the “Dostyk” team, comprised of faculty members from the “Mathematical Computer Modeling” and “Computer Engineering” departments. The top three were rounded out by the “Zhauynger” team, featuring representatives from the Educational and Methodological Activity Office, the Registrar’s Office, and the Military Department.
