FISU World University Championship Mind Sports will be held online

From 26 to 30 October 2020 FISU World University Championship Mind Sports will be held online. Registration of participants takes place in the FISU online accreditation system by the relevant National student sports federations. For the first time The World University Championship will be held in an online format on the Zoom platform. The competition will last for five days and will include one chess tournament (open teams). Each country will be represented by a maximum of five teams. The national chess team of MUIT will represent our University:

Alain Rakhimzhanov, Alice Kozybayev, Ivan Mezentsev, Kembaev Bakytzhan Akhmetov, Ayan, Muratova Anel.

Rules and format of the chess tournament:

The first stage will be played according to the Swiss tournament system with 9 rounds for up to 100 teams and 11 rounds for 101 teams or more. The top 16 teams advance to the second stage – the playoff stage.

Also, for a more fair game, measures will be applied to combat cheating, based on the resources of the host Internet platform, which follows the recommendations of the International chess Federation (FIDE) on fair play.
